RALEIGH -- Raleigh police arrested two people in connection with the murder of a former East Carolina University football player.

They arrested 25-year-old Wantavius Jackson, of Kinston, and 25-year-old Clifton Spellman III, of Greenvillle, on Wednesday and charged them both with felony conspiracy to commit murder. 

Anthony Domonique Lennon was shot and killed in the parking lot of Bahama Breeze on Wake Forest Road on June 23. 

Lennon played defense and special teams at ECU from 2011 to 2014. He was one of the Pirates' top tacklers his senior year. 

Spellman and Jackson are held in lieu of $1 million bail each.
