A convicted upstate New York man was sentenced Tuesday in the stabbing death of a Brooklyn teen last year.

Nagee Green will now spend 20 years to life in prison for fatally stabbing 19-year-old Anthony Nazaire in August 2016.

The Ithaca College sophomore was attending a party at nearby Cornell University, where a fight broke out.

The Ithaca Journal reports Green was retried for the murder charge after he was also convicted of first-degree assault in stabbing Nazaire's friend during the fight.

Green's attorney requested his client not receive the maximum sentence, saying the stabbings were accidental.
