MT. ULA, N,C -- A former West Rowan High School football coach has died after complications from a heart transplant.

Scott Young, 45, was the football coach for West Rowan High School for 17 years where he led the school to three state championships.

Young was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in 2015 and had a heart transplant the following year.

He leaves behind a wife and three children. 

There is not yet word on funeral arrangements.
