WASHINGTON — Capitol Hill remains a battleground as lawmakers continue to scuffle over immigration issues, especially over what happens to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, also known as DACA, and their decision could prompt a government shutdown.

The future of immigrants who benefited from DACA has been unclear since the program was rescinded a few months ago and the push for a clean "Dream Act" has become even more of a priority since then, to the point that, now, Democrats are threatening to withhold support for the proposed budget which can lead to a government shutdown.

Democrats insisted that Congress has until March to come up with a way to protect so-called Dreamers, young immigrants brought to the U.S. illegally as children.
