After a cool beginning to Monday, we saw mild afternoon highs across the area.  Enjoy the mild temperatures for now because they are not going to last much longer.

Clouds will slowly increase during the night.  Also, moisture will move in from the Atlantic and bring a chance for showers across the Coastal Plain.  A cold front will take aim and North Carolina Tuesday night and Wednesday.  As the front moves across the region, we will see the best chance for rain we've seen in several weeks.  Most of the precipitation will move out of the area by Wednesday afternoon but a few locations may see a shower or two into Thursday.

A wave of low pressure is expected to form off the Carolina coast by Friday.  This system will pull moisture back into the state and that means we'll end the work and school week with wet weather.

Sun returns to the forecast for the weekend with colder temperatures in the forecast.
