DURHAM -- Durham police continue to investigate a fatal shooting.

it happened Tuesday night on South Woodcrest Street at Ruby Ridge Road.

Officers say 18-year-old Najay Pierce died from his injuries after being brought to the hospital.         

Authorities are working to find out what lead up to the deadly encounter that they believe was not random.
