SAN ANTONIO -- One man is dead and several people are displaced after an apartment fire on the South Side.

When fire crews arrive at the apartment on Camelot Court, flames were already shooting through the roof.

Crews found the body of a 39-year-old man inside one of the units.

The fire also left 10 people without a home on the coldest night of the year.

"We want to make sure that we are mindful of our space heaters, that we're not using our ovens to warm us, that we're not using barbecue grill in the house, anything like that,” Charles Hood, San Antonio Fire Chief said. “It is going to be cold, we need to make preparations for that."

Officials haven't released the victim's name. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
