A crash in Kinderhook claimed the life of a 4-year-old and sent four others to the hospital Wednesday. State Police say the cars involved collided in the middle on the road on State Route 203, near Merwin Road. Both cars were totaled.

In a news briefing at the Livingston barracks Thursday, State Police could not say what may have caused the crash.

The crash happened Wednesday along Route 203 in Kinderhook shortly before 2:30 p.m. Investigators say a car driven by 27-year-old Laura Dalaudiere was hit by a car headed in the opposite direction. There were three children in the car that was hit, including the 4-year-old, Ryan Dalaudiere, Laura’s son. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Laura Dalaudiere, along with the two other girls in the car, ages 5 and 10, were taken to Albany Medical Center. They’re all said to be in critical but stable condition.

The driver of the other car, 56-year-old David Scott of Ghent, was also taken to Albany Medical Center.

State Police say this will be a lengthy investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police.
