TEXAS – A traffic stop led to the discovery of $2 million worth of marijuana in Hidalgo County.

Ramiro Eden Clarke, 51, was pulled over around 11:15 a.m. on Thursday for a traffic violation, police said. Clarke attempted to evade police officers after stopping his car on U.S. 83 and fleeing on foot.

Troopers were able to track him down and arrest him. During the arrest, 340 pounds of marijuana was found on the floor boards of the car.

Clarke was charged with felony possession of marijuana and evading arrest. He is currently in custody at the Hidalgo County Jail.
