GREENSBORO -- Greensboro police officers deliver presents to kids in need as part of Operation Yuletide.

It's an annual event for the police department, and a way for them to reach out to families who need a little extra help with Christmas presents during the holiday season.

Officers say showing up without blue lights proves there are other sides to being on the force.

"I think a lot of people get to see police officers in a different light, because most of the time when you see police officers it's because you dialed 911 or you were speeding down the highway or something like that," said Sgt.Matt Menshew.

More than 60 Greensboro police officers delivered gifts to 125 families Saturday.
