CEDAR PARK, Texas - Cedar Park High School was placed on lockdown Wednesday afternoon, Spectrum News has learned.

The lockdown was confirmed by Leander Independent School District, but no immediate reason for the lockdown was provided. However, a short time later the Cedar Park Police Department reported via Twitter that the lockdown was prompted by a call concerning a suspicious person on campus.

Cedar Park police said they initially had a report from a student claiming another student had a weapon, but that they're unable to verify any of the claims at this time.

About 12:50 p.m., the Cedar Park Police Department issued an all-clear communication and said units were leaving the area.
