WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- As many as 5,000 people marched to have their voices heard in Winston-Salem Saturday.

The movement sparked last year after President Trump's inauguration and has been fueled by sexual assault and misconduct allegations emerging out of Hollywood and multiple industries across the country.

Both the #MeToo campaign and the Times Up movement have fed the conversation, but the march had one message.

"The main message is to vote," said march organizer Vina Modaress. "We want people to be aware of the issues that are important today especially that pertain to women and we also want them to vote in elections, not just the big ones but the small ones as well."

There were opportunities for people to register to vote and also learn more about how they can get involved in elections this year.
