After a nice one day warm-up on Thursday, some parts of North Carolina could see a couple of snowflakes over the next few days...

With colder air building into the state tonight and early Friday, the mountains should see rain changing over to snow with some light accumulation by Friday morning.  As the moisture moves out of northeastern North Carolina Friday morning, the cold air may move in just in time to trigger a few snowflakes before quickly ending by mid-Friday morning.

A second system will pull moisture back into the area by Sunday.  In the mountains, we are expecting snow to develop late Saturday night into Sunday morning.  However, as warmer air moves into western North Carolina, we should see a change-over to a mix and then to rain at the higher elevations by Sunday afternoon.

Outside of the mountains, from the foothills to the US-1 corridor, Sunday morning may bring a brief wintry mix before we change to all rain.  The rest of the state is just looking at rain chances on Sunday.
