After a rainy end to the weekend and a cool start to the workweek, we'll see a little more sun on Tuesday with milder daytime temperatures.

High pressure over North Carolina gave the state lots of sunshine on Monday. This high will set us up for mostly clear skies tonight with chilly overnight lows.

As the high slips east on Tuesday, winds will become more southerly. This along with more sunshine will allow for milder afternoon temperatures. A new weather system will start to pull moisture up into the region as early as Tuesday afternoon. A few more clouds will develop by Tuesday afternoon and even more clouds will push into the area overnight.

The chance of showers will increase on Wednesday. We'll be on the warm side of the storm system, so we can expect warmer temperatures on during the day.

High pressure will build back into the state for the end of the week.
