The southwesterly breeze that warmed most of us to around 70 degrees Thursday will make for a warm night and even warmer Friday.

Partly cloudy skies in the overnight forecast as lows only drop to around 60 and the low 60s by Friday morning.

Highs Friday will return to the 70s with a few spots in the Sandhills topping out near 80.  We’ll see more sunshine in the morning, then an increase in clouds by midday thanks to a cold front approaching from the north.  Expect spotty showers across the region from late afternoon into the evening. Then much colder air will arrive behind the front Friday night.

Temperatures will drop to the 40s by Saturday morning with little recovery on a chilly northeast breeze. Rain is in the forecast for Saturday afternoon and evening.
