CLEMMONS - Lots of construction projects are underway in the Village of Clemmons.

"People are buying properties, investing in them, rehabbing them and they're bringing in new businesses,” said Mayor John Wait.

That includes CBRE|Triad. The commercial real estate provider just purchased 16,840 square feet of retail space inside Clemmons Village West.

"Somthing like that is good news simply because we have so many developers interested in coming and developing property in the village. Not just there, but in other areas," said Mayor Wait.

Areas include Village Pointe and Lewisville Clemmons Road.

Wait said, “There’s plans for a mixed-use development building that is going into the Village Pointe area. We are very excited about that because that's going to include not just a building but a pedestrian friendly environment to do shopping. Outside of Village Pointe over on Lewisville Clemmons Road we've got a car wash that's going to be put in."

Other additions to the area include a newly delivered Publix anchored shopping center and additional road infrastructure.

Novant Health also expanded its operations in Clemmons and played a vital role in getting the new road built.

"We saw an opportunity to not only increase the access to our facility for emergency which is a benefit to us, but also a benefit to the community to alleviate a highly traveled road on Clemmons Road to make it safer for the traffic," said Novant Health Clemmons Medical Center President Chad Setliff.

Setliff said Novant is happy in Clemmons and has plans to expand its footprint in the area even further.

“We have plans already that will include a new medical office building, additional specialty clinics, as well as a surgery center."

Wait said more than 200 jobs have come to Clemmons within the last year.
