An Atlanta Braves legend, two prolific sluggers and a star closer are headed to Cooperstown.

The Baseball Hall of Fame announced its 2018 induction class Wednesday night, adding Chipper Jones, Vladimir Guerrero, Jim Thome and Trevor Hoffman to its ranks. The group will join veteran selections Jack Morris and Alan Trammell in Cooperstown, N.Y., this summer for the induction ceremony.

Jones spent his entire career with the Atlanta Braves, hitting 468 home runs. He was an eight-time All-Star, the 1999 National League MVP and a member of the Braves' 1995 World Series championship team.

Guerrero played 16 seasons in the majors, eight of them with the Montreal Expos. He hit 449 homers, won the 2004 American League MVP award with the Angels and was selected to nine All-Star teams.

Thome, a power-hitting first baseman and designated hitter, hit 612 home runs in his career, the eighth-highest total in MLB history. The five-time All-Star played 13 of his 22 seasons with the Cleveland Indians, reaching the World Series in 1995 and 1997.

Hoffman recorded 601 saves -- second-most in MLB history -- in his 18-year career, spent mostly with the San Diego Padres. He was a seven-time All-Star and was runner-up for the NL Cy Young Award twice -- a rarity for relief pitchers. Hoffman was the closer for the 1998 Padres team that reached the World Series.
