Less than two months after she was convicted of manslaughter, Kaitlyn Conley is gearing up for an appeal.

Conley's mother confirms they've hired an appeals lawyer from New York City to contest the jury's decision in the poisoning death 60-year-old Mary Yoder.

Conley was charged with both murder and manslaughter in the case, but was ultimately found guilty of the lesser charge.

The conviction came at the end of her second trial after the first one ended in a hung jury.

The family has not released the name of the lawyer who will represent Conley, but it will be the third attorney to take on her case.

Her sentencing remains on schedule for January 11th.

Conley’s family continues to argue that she was wrongfully convicted in Yoder’s death and have received dozens of supportive letters and cards. Her sisters have started a “Free Kaitlyn Conley” campaign in an attempt to show her true character and help in her appeal.
