A high pressure system over the area gave the five boroughs more sunny and dry weather on Sunday, but, it was quite cold as temperatures dropped back to below-normal levels.

More sunshine is in store for Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, but, temperatures will remain below-normal, and we could see an increase in cloud cover later in the day.

Looking ahead, a storm system in the upper midwest is expected to gradually make its way towards our area, and give us a round of snow showers from Tuesday afternoon through early Wednesday morning. The storm should only be a minor inconvenience though, as no more than 2" are expected in and around the five boroughs.
